Preservation & Renovation - Some of our creations began as an existing home that was structurally sound but in need of some tender loving care. Every mechanical system (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, foundation, frame, roofing, appliances, etc.) is evaluated for proper functioning and if there is any doubt that it can provide 10 years or more of trouble free service, it is rebuilt or replaced with new equipment. Floor plans are then adjusted to provide better flow and utilization of space.

We then begin the rebuilding process and bring the style and amenities up to today's standards. Flooring, wall colors, cabinetry, trim and countertops are all carefully selected to create a home that exudes a sense of warmth, security and originality simply not available from less carefully constructed new homes or older homes in need of remodeling.

About Your Builder - Prior to starting JewelBox Homes, Robert Latham spent nearly 20 years in executive positions in the aerospace, petrochemical and plastics industries. With expertise in project and operations management, quality control and finance, Mr. Latham brings professionalism and many of the leading edge techniques used in manufacturing to the custom home building and remodeling process. In a case of coming full circle, prior to obtaining his BS in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M and an MBA from Columbia University, Mr. Latham completed numerous courses in architecture and building construction. He is happy to now be pursuing his passion of building fine homes in Houston's best neighborhoods. A fifth generation native Houstonian, he and his family reside in Bunker Hill.
